Kintsugi Method

Why the kintsugi method?

You might be wondering, what is Kintsugi and what does it have to do with my body?

Kintsugi is the Japanese ceramic art form of rebuilding broken pottery to its' original structure with melted gold — built on the ancient practice, a broken art piece can be reinvented. This 15th century technique uses the fortifying elements of the liquid gold to highlight the "scars" as a part of the redesign. Every crack becomes an opportunity for embellishment. Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves, reminds us that in the process of repairing broken things, we actually end up creating something more unique, beautiful and resilient.

I often use metaphors to bring perspective to complex mechanisms in the body and have come to appreciate the clarity they provide when educating my clients.

I have embraced the Kintsugi analogy, in particular, as the cornerstone of my philosophy and practice.

Kintsugi exemplifies the process of complete recovery, highlighting not only the restoration of form and function, but the enhancement of resilience through our scars. Whether you are recovering from an injury, addressing lifestyle challenges, or seeking to elevate your physical performance, the Kintsugi methodology is here to reframe setbacks and as a reminder of your innate ability to reinvent and master your body. It is important though, to recognize that healing through this approach requires dedicated effort and mindful awareness throughout.

Maintaining perfection is not our purpose as humans, and instead maintaining gratitude for being able to make the journey with our bodies, no matter where they stand, is the greatest gift we can give ourselves. By recognizing and addressing problems, in the body we are able to celebrate when we overcome them, and even turn them into our strengths. This shift of mindset will unlock a power you will be able to use in all parts of your life and in the lives of those around you.

GIVE YOUR BODY BACK IT'S POWER

We are hosts for extremely complex and intelligent communication centers all throughout our bodies and in order for those signals to be transmitted our systems need to be cleared out and reconnected consistently. The more we work our bodies, the more they need to be worked through. Often times we try and jump start this process with tinctures, oils, and supplements but the real changes happen when our skin is receiving new stimuli for neuropathways to activate and take effect in a clean, safe environment.

ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE GUIDED

Physical contact has often times been perceived as a way to surrender your old ways of being and taking on a new form through someone else's touch. I have studied human form, and the way it shifts as we move for many years, taking into account age, environment and body psychology which play major roles in the stories of our bodies. I apply strong pressure in areas that have hardened and begun to form an unstable of unbalanced foundation and add length in areas that have shortened over time to start the journey back to homeostasis.

GOING DEEPER WHEN YOUR READY

What will naturally come through healing your body will be an expansive curiosity of what it all means! Finding out what is linked to what, and how your outward intake affects your internal environment. I hold space before, during and after sessions to answers these questions and provide you with the tools you need to maintain vibrant mobility and continuous care for your vessel.

AND LASTLY, TRUST AND HONOR YOUR GUT

Anyone in charge of helping take care of your body should  be in tune with what your gut needs to keep all areas of you running smoothly. I am a gentle caretaker and understand that everyone comes with their own cultures, practices, rituals and knowledge surrounding food and how to best lead a healthy life. I love hearing my clients different approaches. I work to help shape and add insight to keep you thriving in those states with less clutter and more streamlined approaches to your life's routines.
